I took this picture of an Osprey at Morro Bay in December 2008 with an inexpensive lens. Initially not too impressed, it sat in limbo until August when I was looking for photos for the California Coastal Commission photo contest. After a little cropping I realized I had a keeper. This osprey it returning to a nest in this tree (out of the picture). She had been waiting for the right moment to bring back breakfast. As you can see, she came back empty talloned.
